Common Modifications & Tuning

Headers

Long tube headers are the single best bolt-on for naturally aspirated Corvettes:

  • C6 LS3: 30-40 HP gain with headers + tune
  • C7 LT1: 40-50 HP gain with headers + tune
  • Requires O2 sensor recalibration
  • American Racing, Kooks, Stainless Works popular choices

Cam Swaps

Aftermarket camshafts unlock major power potential:

  • 50-100 HP gain depending on specs
  • Requires professional installation
  • Must retune for proper calibration
  • Consider springs and pushrods as well

Supercharger Upgrades (LT4/LT5)

  • Smaller pulley increases boost pressure
  • Lid upgrades improve airflow
  • Heat exchanger critical for sustained power
  • Fuel system may limit ultimate power

E85 Performance

All Corvette engines love ethanol:

  • LS3/LS7: Significant timing advance possible
  • LT1/LT2: 30-40 HP gain over 93 octane
  • LT4/LT5: Massive gains, 100+ HP over 93
  • Flex fuel sensor recommended for street use
