Common Modifications & Tuning
Headers
Long tube headers are the single best bolt-on for naturally aspirated Corvettes:
- C6 LS3: 30-40 HP gain with headers + tune
- C7 LT1: 40-50 HP gain with headers + tune
- Requires O2 sensor recalibration
- American Racing, Kooks, Stainless Works popular choices
Cam Swaps
Aftermarket camshafts unlock major power potential:
- 50-100 HP gain depending on specs
- Requires professional installation
- Must retune for proper calibration
- Consider springs and pushrods as well
Supercharger Upgrades (LT4/LT5)
- Smaller pulley increases boost pressure
- Lid upgrades improve airflow
- Heat exchanger critical for sustained power
- Fuel system may limit ultimate power
E85 Performance
All Corvette engines love ethanol:
- LS3/LS7: Significant timing advance possible
- LT1/LT2: 30-40 HP gain over 93 octane
- LT4/LT5: Massive gains, 100+ HP over 93
- Flex fuel sensor recommended for street use
